If you find regular print books difficult to read, try books from our large print book collection, or the audiobook (book on CD) collection.
Adult literacy books are high interest, low vocabulary books that are designed for adults who are working to improve their reading, writing and math skills or who do not have the ability to read lengthy books.
Marlena Books are a series of books for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia aimed at maintaining the love of reading while providing cognitive stimulation.
If you find it difficult to get to the library on a regular basis you can register for a library card with an extended loan period.
Cognitive Kits help support the skills and abilities of people living with dementia and other forms of cognitive impairment. The collection of eight unique kits contains an assortment of activities that encourage social engagement and success with daily activities. Kits are free to borrow.
If you work for a nursing or retirement home in the City of Kawartha Lakes and think that residents would enjoy regular library visits for book exchanges, we would be happy to arrange these visits. Please contact the Outreach Specialist at 705-324-9411 extension 1256 or email Lbowen@kawarthalakeslibrary.ca.
Contact the Reference Department in order to get your technology questions answered. Call 705-324-9411 extension 1268 or email lindsaylibrary@kawarthalakeslibrary.ca. Help can be offered over the phone, by visiting a technology group class when offered, or signing up for a one-on-one session.
