Get a library card
A Kawartha Lakes Public Library card is FREE to anyone living in, attending school or owning property in the City of Kawartha Lakes. You will need a library card to borrow any items in our collection or to access our digital library. A card is not required to visit our branches or attend library events and programs.
Visit any Kawartha Lakes Public Library location with the appropriate identification to receive your free library card.
You can also register online. With online registration your membership number will be activated immediately, so you can use it right away for any of our digital services. Online registration is valid for 3 months.

You can now register online for a library card. By completing the online form, you will have immediate access to our digital collection for 3 months. You can also use this membership number right away to place holds on physical items as well. Once you complete the form, your temporary membership number will be emailed to you. If you register online and place a hold on a book, you will need to show id in the branch to pick up the item and get a physical library card.
