Visit any Kawartha Lakes Public Library location with the appropriate identification.

To get your free library card you need to prove that you live, pay taxes, or attend school in Kawartha Lakes or a surrounding municipality.
Identification can be:
- something with your name and a Kawartha Lakes address. For example a:
- driver's licence
- property tax bill
- lease agreement
- bill (utility, cable, internet, etc.)
- report card
- a student card (Fleming College) and identification with home address

If you live in one of the surrounding municipalities you are eligible to get a free Kawartha Lakes Public Library card as a reciprocal borrower:
Non-resident cards (see "Types of library cards" below) are available for those living outside of these surrounding municipalities.

Renew your card |
Your library card expires every two years. Outstanding charges must be paid on all overdue materials before your card can be renewed. You can renew your card by contacting us with the following information:
- your library card number
- your current contact information:
- address
- Phone number and/or email
Library cards expire so that we can:
- check that your contact information is current
- confirm that you're still eligible for a library card
- collect payment for any outstanding fines on your account
