Exam Proctoring

Need a supervised space to write an exam or retake a certification test in a supervised environment?

Kawartha Lakes Public Library offers Exam Proctoring and Invigilation at all branch locations. A library card is not required for this service.

Payment of the proctoring fee is due upon arrival at the library to write the exam. Please see the service fees below.


Booking an Exam

  • Minimum 1 week’s notice required before any test will be proctored.

  • Exams are scheduled during regular open hours, with a maximum 3-hour booking.

  • Exams must be completed at least 30 minutes before closing.

  • All computer software or online exam technical needs must be addressed at least 1 week in advance.

  • No additional software can be installed on library computers.

  • Proctoring is subject to staff availability. Contact your preferred branch to discuss possible dates and times.

Fees

Payment of the Proctoring Fees must be made upon arrival at the library to write the exam.

Rescheduling or Cancelling an exam (more than 3 days notice) Free
Rescheduling or Cancelling an exam (less than 3 days notice) $5.00 (HST inclusive)

Please be aware that the library is not responsible for any fees associated with proctoring, such as postage fees or photocopying. Any fees involved with the exam are the responsibility of the student taking the exam or the educational institution. If an educational institution offers to pay the library a fee for the proctoring service, it will be accepted.

Student Responsibilities

  • Ensure all exam requirements set by your school or organization have been meet.

  • Provide any required materials or identification.

  • Unless permitted to use your own device, note that library computers are public and the library is not responsible for data security.

Returning Completed Exams

We take all reasonable steps to ensure completed exams are returned to the correct destination.
However, the library does not assume responsibility for exams lost or delayed in delivery.
