Earth Day Challenge

Join our Earth Day Challenge! Pick up an Earth Day Challenge at your library branch and discover easy ways to help make our planet a little greener. Also included are materials to make a Nesting Materials Bird Shop.

Pick up from any library branch between: Saturday, April 18 to Saturday, April 25.

Hand in your challenge card by Saturday, May 9 for  a chance to win a Yeti water bottle. Open to all ages!

Supplies are limited, pick up yours while they last!

  • No purchase necessary.
  • Open to residents of Ontario.
  • One (1) entry per participant.
  • Participants must return their Earth Day Challenge page to their local branch to enter.
  • Open to all ages.
  • Contest closes Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm
  • One (1) winner will be selected by random draw.
  • The selected entrant will be contacted using the contact information provided and must respond within 7 days to claim the prize.
  • Prize consists of one (1) Yeti water bottle.
  • Prize is not transferable, not exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
  • Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  • The winner may be required to answer a skill-testing question as required by Canadian law.
  • Personal information collected will be used solely for the administration of this contest and in accordance with the Library’s privacy policy.
  • By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to the use of their name and/or photograph for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
  • Kawartha Lakes Public Library is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries.

Get Caught Reading 

Closes: May 31, 2026

The month of May is Get Caught Reading Month, a campaign to remind people of all ages how much fun it is to read.

How to Celebrate:

  • Find a cozy spot and create a reading routine. 
  • Visit the library and pick out a book. 
  • Read outdoors or in your favourite location.
  • Get caught reading and enter the contest.
  • Read a story to your children or a senior

  • No purchase necessary.
  • Open to residents of Ontario.
  • One (1) entry per participant.
  • Participants must submit a photo and complete the online form to enter.
  • Open to all ages.
  • Contest closes May 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
  • One (1) winner will be selected by random draw.
  • The selected entrant will be contacted using the contact information provided and must respond within 7 days to claim the prize.
  • Winner will be announced on June 5th, 2026
  • Prize consists of one (1) library-themed pair of socks, a Campfire Ceramic Mug, and playing cards.
  • Prize is not transferable, not exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.

  • Photo Usage: By submitting a photo, you agree that the library may share your entry on social media, in print, or in future promotional materials.
