- Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. If the survey is completed on behalf of a child participant, it must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian.
- Contest closes September 5, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
- One (1) winner will be selected by random draw.
- The selected entrant will be contacted using the contact information provided and must respond within 7 days to claim the prize.
- Winner will be announced Saturday, September 12, 2026
- Prize consists of admission tickets to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in Toronto, Ontario, with a maximum total value of $200 CAD.
- Tickets will be purchased by Kawartha Lakes Public Library based on the winner’s family size, up to the stated maximum value.
- Prize is not transferable, not exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
- Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received.
- Kawartha Lakes Public Library reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.
- Winner may be required to answer a skill-testing question as required by Canadian law.
- Employees of Kawartha Lakes Public Library and members of their immediate household are not eligible to enter or win.
- Personal information collected will be used solely for the administration of this contest and in accordance with the Library’s privacy policy.
- This contest is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada.

Jump into a summer of reading adventures, water-inspired crafts, and prizes! From lakes to libraries, we’re making waves all summer long. Register at your local branch on June 20 to pick up your Summer Reading Passport.

Registering for the Summer Reading Club
Registering In Person
Children and teens can register at any of our library branches with a parent or caregiver starting Saturday, June 20, 2026 and receive their Summer Reading Club package to get started!
Advance Online Registration
Parents and caregivers can pre-register their kids online starting Monday, June 15, 2026. Once registered, library staff will contact you when your Summer Reading Club package is ready for pickup at your preferred branch
The Summer Reading Club Passport
We have created a passport to help children track their reading, as well as to offer library challenges to make this summer extra fun.
Here’s how it works:
Participants are encouraged to try to read for at least 15 minutes a day, either by themselves or with an adult, and mark off a box in the passport for each day you read. Any kind of reading counts!
Earn Stickers:
Collect a sticker for every day you read. Visit your local branch whenever it’s convenient to collect your weekly stickers.
Lanyards:
Each child receives a lanyard to hold their rewards. Along the way, you will collect: Keychains, coloured, charms, and other collectibles for completing challenges.
Win Prizes:
Fill out the survey at the back of this booklet for a chance to win tickets to Ripley's Aquarium of Canada in Toronto.. In Branch draws take place on Week 5 for a chance to win a magnetic tiles building set and Week 7 for a chance to win a Yeti water bottle.
Programs and Activities
Each summer, we offer a fun-filled lineup of activities as part of our Summer Reading Club! Our in-branch programs are designed for children ages 4–10, with some crafts and activities requiring adult supervision. No registration is required for these programs.
