Queen’s Square Park Revitalization Project
Starting the week of Tuesday, May 19, 2026
Construction work will begin in Queen’s Square Park, located directly in front of the Lindsay Library branch. This project is expected to continue over the next couple of months as improvements are made to the park space and library entrance area.
What to expect:
- The library will remain open during construction.
- There may be short periods when the Kent Street entrance needs to close temporarily.
- Public notice will be shared in advance of any entrance closures whenever possible.
- The rear entrance will serve as the main entrance during closures.
Library Access:
- Please use the ramp entrance at the rear of the building/parking lot.
Additional Notes:
- Clear signage will be posted onsite, directing visitors to the rear entrance.
- The front entrance area will be closed off and barricaded for safety when needed.
- Construction will take place Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Project Improvements
This revitalization project includes several upgrades to Queen’s Square and the library entrance area, including:
- Improving walkways.
- Repairing and restoring the concrete steps leading to the Carnegie building.
- Installing new window signage on the library branch windows.
- Refreshing flower beds with additional topsoil and mulch.
- Planting 16 new trees.
