Dive Into Summer Reading Club 2026 at Kawartha Lakes Public Library
Get ready to make waves this summer! Kawartha Lakes Public Library invites children, teens, and families to Dive In to a summer filled with books, activities, creativity, and adventure through Summer Reading Club 2026.
Now that registration is fully open both online and in-branch, it’s the perfect time to join in and start your summer reading journey.
A Summer Full of Stories and Adventure
This summer, library branches across Kawartha Lakes will make a splash with stories, creativity, and discovery as families take part in Summer Reading Club 2026. Inspired by water, lakes, rivers, and the adventures waiting just beyond the shoreline, this year’s theme encourages children and teens to Dive In to reading and make unforgettable summer memories.
Summer Reading Club helps children build confidence, spark imagination, encourage a love of reading, and discover all that their public library has to offer.
Programs, Challenges, and Summer Fun
This year’s program includes reading challenges, collectible rewards, crafts, special guests, Touch-A-Truck events, Storywalks, and Pop-Up Storytimes that bring stories beyond library walls and into communities across Kawartha Lakes.
Families can stay connected throughout the summer with regular updates and activities shared through the library’s social media and website. You can also sign up for our email newsletter to have weekly Summer Reading Club events and updates delivered directly to your inbox, so you never miss what’s happening at your local branch.
Registered participants will receive a Summer Reading Passport to track their progress, complete challenges, and celebrate their accomplishments throughout the season. They can also enter prize draws, including a chance to win tickets to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada.
How to Join
Summer Reading Club is free to join and open to children and teens of all reading abilities. No library card is required, and visitors from other communities are welcome to participate, here for the summer or spending time at your cottage; everyone can join in the fun. Picture books, graphic novels, chapter books, audiobooks, or reading together as a family, every story counts.
Registration is now open online and at all library branches.
