Library News

The Lindsay branch of the Kawartha Lakes Public Library will be closed for construction on the following dates:

Wednesday, October 29, 2025
Thursday, October 30, 2025
Friday, October 31, 2025

Please use the book return located outside the North entrance to return books and DVDs during the closure.

The Financial Workshop and OnLand Workshop will proceed as scheduled. Please enter through the North (ramp) entrance. Staff will be available to help direct you:

OnLand Workshop – upstairs in the Reference Department
Financial Workshop – downstairs in the Meeting Room

Elevator access will be available.

All other regular programming and services, including Storytime, Baby & Me, etc, will be cancelled during the closure. Programming will resume as usual on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Please note:

Public computers will not be available during the closure.
Hold pick-ups will resume once the branch reopens on Saturday. Any existing holds will be extended until then.
To renew your items, please call circulation at 705-324-9411 ext. 1258 or 705-324-9411 ext. 1263 or renew your books online through the online catalogue.

Library services will continue to be available at our 13 other branches, and all digital library services will remain accessible.

When will the branch reopen?

The Lindsay branch will reopen on Saturday, November 1, 2025 for regular hours and services.

Can I still return my books and DVDs?

Yes. Please use the book return located outside the North entrance during the closure.

What happens to my holds during the closure?

Holds that are ready for pickup will be extended until the branch reopens. New holds can still be placed online, but pickup will not be available until we reopen.

Will any programs still be running?

The Financial Workshop and OnLand Workshop will proceed as planned. All other regular programs, such as Storytime and Baby & Me, will be cancelled during the closure.

Will public computers or printing be available?

No. Public computers or printing will be unavailable during the closure.

Can I still use the digital library?

Absolutely! All of our digital services, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, online learning, and streaming, will remain available 24/7 through our website.
