Starting August 31, the Lindsay Library Branch will be closed for about 2 weeks while we replace the carpeting and do some minor renovation work in the branch.
During the week of August 26, the Lindsay Library Branch will be open, but staff will be starting to pack up all of the books so the renovations can start.
All other library branches are open regular library hours during the renovations.

When are the renovations happening at the Lindsay branch? |

The Lindsay branch will continue to be open for regular hours (Monday – Thursday, 10am – 8pm, Friday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm) until August 24. Beginning August 26th, the hours are as follows:
The Lindsay Library Branch will be closed August 31 to September 14 The Lindsay branch will be temporarily closed starting September 1. The goal is to open up the Reference and Circulation department the third week of September. The Programs department will remain closed for a longer period of time for further renovations. |

What renovations are happening? |
|
The Circulation and Programs department are both getting new carpeting. This involves taking out all furniture, books, and shelves in order to complete the task. The Programs department will also look a bit different upon your return. Some of the shelving is being replaced, and new furniture will be brought in. This will be a better layout that will allow for more space for programs, without sacrificing any of the collection. We also hope the new layout will better showcase the architectural details of this heritage building. |

Will there be a disruption to services? |
|
The Lindsay branch will be closed to the public from August 31 to at least September 14. During this time, you are more than welcome to visit another library branch that’s close by. Click here for a complete list of locations and hours. The Digital Library remains available 24/7 as well. Download movies, music, books and more to enjoy at home until the Lindsay branch opens again. Staff remain available via email and telephone to offer support 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Can I return items to the Lindsay branch during the closure? |
|
No, please do not return anything to the Lindsay branch while it is closed. The outside drop box will not be available. Loan periods will be extended until September 20th so library material will not show up on your account as overdue. Additionally, the library does not have any overdue fines. |

What will happen to my holds? |
|
Holds made available for Lindsay patrons after August 28 will be kept until the Lindsay Branch reopens. Library staff will reach out at that time to advise of holds available for pick up. |

Will transit passes still be available? |
|
Transit passes will be available at the Lindsay branch until the end of the day on Friday, August 30. Starting on September 3, Transit Passes can be purchased at City Hall (26 Francis Street., Lindsay), Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. |

Can I still access Wifi? |
|
Yes, Wifi outside of the building will still be available. |
