DAISY audio books allow you to listen to an audio book the same way you would read a print book. You can listen to a book from start to finish by just pressing play, or you can also skip from section to section, use bookmarks and look things up in the index. A specialized player such as the DAISY VICTOR Reader is required to play DAISY audiobooks.
Kawartha Lakes Public Library has a collection of DAISY audio books that patrons may borrow. Each set of 10 books includes a variety of different genres such as romance, western, mystery, non-fiction, and general fiction. Browse our catalogue to see our collection of DAISY audio books.
Patrons can also order DAISY audio books from CELA.
To order DAISY audiobooks from CELA:
- You must have a valid Kawartha Lakes Public Library card. If you don't have a valid Kawartha Lakes Public Library card find out how you can get one.
- Email Library Administration to register for a CELA membership using your Kawartha Lakes Public Library card
- Once approved, you can order the Daisy audio books from CELA. These audio books are sent from CELA directly to your home address within a few days. CELA also provides the option to download DAISY disks through the internet.
