Access Explora Primary and find thousands of articles on nearly any topic you can imagine and written to be easy to read by kids. Sections include Animals, Math, Science and Health, Social Studies, and more!

Ezni-nawending: How we are related
Access Ezni-nawending: How we are related, a free and interactive online learning portal recently launched by Anishinabek Nation. With 80 recorded and colourfully animated videos, plus games and interactive features, it shares lessons Canadians of all ages should learn, in a package that's appealing and fun for kids. It's designed for elementary students, but accessible to anyone with a computer and an internet connection.

Gale in Context: Elementary (formerly Kid InfoBits)

Access Gale in Context: Elementary, a database made for kids from Kindergarten to Grade 5. Find school-appropriate magazines, newspapers, and reference information about many subjects such as:

  • Sports...and more!

Interland: Be Internet Awesome

Play Interland, a playful online game created by Google that makes learning about digital safety and citizenship interactive and fun. Combat badly behaved hackers, phishers, oversharers and bullies and practice skills to be good digital citizens.

Resources for families and educators, including presentation slides, are available for free to support kids learning about digital safety.

Designed for ages 7-12, but enjoyable for younger and older kids.

Kanopy

Access Kanopy and discover a collection of classic and informative movies and television for kids. Stream shows from many of your favourite classic children's characters. You will need your library card and library PIN number to access this resource. For help, visit our help with Digital Library page.

You have a limit of five borrowed videos per month. This resets on the 1st of each month.

Kanopy is available online, via mobile apps for phones and tablets (see below) or can be watched directly through smart TV services such as Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung Smart TV, Roku, Telestra TV, and Chromecast.

Access Little Pim for an easy and fun way for the youngest learners (ages 0-6) to gain the building blocks of another language.  Children learn basic vocabulary that relates to their daily life, with themes such as mealtime, playtime, and morning routines.

NoveList K-8

Access NoveList (K-8) to discover new books to read for kids (and kids at heart)! Find books for ages Kindergarten to Grade 8. You'll find read-alikes and authors suggestions. Browse genres, award winning books or try the appeal mixer to see what books include your favourite things.

PebbleGo
Access PebbleGo and find articles, videos and educational games all related to animals or science. You will need your library card to access this resource.
Pinnguaq Learning
Visit Pinnguaq Learning and teach yourself computer basics using the 100 free classes on offer created by the Lindsay-based Pinnguaq Association.
TumbleBook Library

Access the TumbleBook Library for animated and narrated digital picture books of kids classics you know and love and a collection of early reader chapter books, classics, graphic novels, and National Geographic videos for elementary school aged readers. Available with French and Spanish interfaces. You will need your library card to access this resource.
